I have been slipping away!

Our master bedrooM  is always changing. Well let's just say i have always had a love/hate relationship with it. Well not hate just never satisfied. Anyways i made drapes a few months ago. And i am finally sure i like them. well the pattern I mean.. So then i had a vision. It is all MarY McDonalds fault. The designer. That show that was on a few months ago with designers. I loved her bold styles. I like her uses of black and white, and gold.  Her use of bold pattern s for pillows or a piece of furniture.  Loved her house.  Everyone is using chrome or silver. But i wanted to use brassy sassy gold. So on the hunt i went for some big bulky brassy lamp bases for each nightstand. Found them at Goodwill. Perfect! But i wanted some thinner brassy sassy ones for the dresser. And many trips to the thrift store ( and different lamps i had) finally i found 2 for 13.00 . yipee.!
So the bedroom is almost finished. But not ready to show. I took one of the chairs i got from the thrift store and decided i wanted it in our bedroom. So i gathered up all the material i had left, and trim and  made buttons and made a slip cover for it!
As you can see a peek of my drapes. I used some leftover material i had from them . , I also made the flower pillow. I am still thinking the skirt is missing something, just not sure what.....  So next i want to add a little red to the drapes. Then i am possibly on the hunt for a red velvet bedskirt. ... Soon i WILL POST THE REST OF THE ROOM... i THINK. :)   linking to MOTIVATED MONDAYS at BE COLORFUL

more yard work!

This Memorial weekend i worked in the yard. Pulled weeds, planted , cleaned the ditch, then mulch barked. It was fun but exausting.  My neighbor let me take some of her Elephant ears , so i planted them around the fountain. Planted some poppies, sandwort, ferns, pansies, hostas, did some rearranging. Oh and ladies mantle. Lithadora...
daylillies, and things i can't remember. lol. the ornamental poppies and Elephant ears are in shock. Next year they will be beautiful. The next day i gotta a message from Tracie to come pick up more of her poppies. They were orangey red which i love and she doesn't. I was so excited! So i planted those babies and they just keeled over. Next year they will stand straight(i hope).
my little pot fountain, I can't wait for the lupins to grow and the poppy too.
Here is that ditch. I weeded, and picked up garbage that people rudely throw in there. I still hate the way it looks. So after this picture i drove to Lowes and got some lithadora to fill in not soon enough.! The knickknick i planted last year. Just wish i could snap my fingers and it would be all filled in.  Mulched the top. There is roses, boxwood, shasta daisies, pansies, and some chicks and hens and lupins. Which the lupins are very happy there. Did i mention i weeded? ugh.
this area is a work in progress lots of starters. Once they grow it will be much better. After this was taken. I took some things from the backyard jungle. There are so many trees back there. The owner had some things planted that really needed sun. So i replanted(saved) fern, and a couple  of spirea, lambs ear. . Also planted poppies, creeping jenny, a couple other things from Tracies garden.. My Mind is going blank.!  Oh i am so excited! after seeing Tracies arbor gate , i had to get one. It should be coming soon. It is white wrought iron and i am going to grow roses and something else on it.
I am going to put it behind the bench where the hanging pots are. I will move that somewhere else.  I think when the roses are blooming on the arbor and the lilac tree is blooming it will look so pretty( next year of course) lol.  I know you are probably sick of seeing my yard but darn it . After 30 bags ( and still need more ) of bar/mulch i laid out and the 2 days i spent working my tushee off. I have to gloat! Did i mention i weeded? And got stung by a bee? And weeded....   I just get so carried away with my garden . I tell my husband i will be in like an hour and 6 hours later i am still out here.  I like to admire, rearrange, look at everything, talk to my plants, and hum a little..  By today,. My body aches. My knees, feet, hand( i  know not supposed to be using so much, bad me)  My back..... but i enjoyed myself. :)   Did i mention i weeded? i hate weediing!  LINKING TObetweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com and also www.thistlewoodfarms

OMG I Went On A GArden and House Tour!

Oh this morning was Fabulous! I found a lady on Facebook that Has the most glorious gardens and such a beautiful home!  fishtailcottage.blogspot.com. Tracie Fish is here name and you must check out her blog. She also sells on Etsy.  This is the front of her house! Oh yes , you are in for a treat!
First off i noticed on her fb post that she lived in Wa. and she was selling starters for the garden! Omg! i jumped on that! Hoping she lived near me , I messaged her . And yippee she was not to far!  So we made a date (next day, thank god cause patience isn"t my thing:), lol. .  So i took my son to school ( accidently kicked him out of the car, and roared off.. just kidding) . I did say " have a great day"!! And off i went.
And i finally pulled up to this precious curb appeal house. Someone was there before me, loading up some starters in there car. I ran them over,( just kidding again). i pulled up and in garden wonderland i was.
This is the walkway to the front door.
here is to the left of door
to the right
Lets go to the back

Umm. is this not wonderful? wish i had a back porch with a fireplace!
Let's go get some eggs from the chickens shall we???
Even a cute house for the chickens. Who happened to hide from me when they saw me pulling the camera out! :(
We better have a seat
we really need to sit and admire everything ( love the pails)

Let's  go back to the porch maybe we can sneak a peek in the house!
I wanna go in don't you? And she invited me in....wohoo, do the happy dance. ! I loved how this looked thru the doors. Love the white dishes.  And the black and white pictures. Oh, oh , blogger will not let me load anymore pictures on this post.  Guess we will have to do a new one!
Ha, i figured it out.  Do you see that little lovebug on the right? Not sure if that is Millie, but There is 3 of these little cuties living in this house. More on them later...
This is where Tracie does her business. That doesnt sound right. This is her office. I love the chairs and the ruffled tablecloth.  Like i was telling Tracie , I am a color person in my house. But it doesn't mean i don't find this lovely. I can appreciate cottagey/shabby chic style.   And i could do my business in here to.lol.
Ok, if we turn around thru the french doors
You see this room. It used to be her son's room. But he is off to college so she just redid it! I love the bed. She asked if i thought the bed was to high. Just when i was thinking to myself "boy this bed looks comfy". I like high beds. Makes me feel like i am a princess in bed! lol.  the linens looked pretty comfy too.
You can barely see the cute silver box on the side table filled with a plant. I liked that. My photography doesn't do this justice.  On the left there is a doggy bed. Cute! . I really liked the grey wall too. Her house needs to be in Romantic Country or Romantic Homes.  I told her that and she thought i was funny. But I am serious! And I am going to have to find a way to hook that up. Any ideas?
Love the hall tree. Should of got a better picture. Actually i should of took more pictures. But i didnt want to overwelm her. I mean she probably thought i thought i was some professional photographer! Obvious i am not. She had to help me figure my camera out. ha. what a dork i am...
ok lets talk doggies. 2girls. i year old for the white ones.
this is charlie, he is 4 i think. This little stinker made me take his picture 3 times cause he kept turning his head. See, half turn..
lifes rough for this one. lol.
So after i tied Tracie up to a chair. I loaded up these
And all 3 doggies and hit the road! I do feel kinda guilty though cause i hope someone found Tracie and untied her not to long after i left.  I promise Tracie the doggies will be well taken care of!!!:)

Yard work!

Now that my hand is starting to feel again i have been getting out in the yard! I hate weeds! You pick them, then i swear they pop up right away! Last year when we moved here the yard was basically dirt. I bought every Perennial i could! lol. Thought this year i would not need to buy any. Well try and tell me that when i am in the garden section and see all these flowers! :)   Some flowers are coming up. Shrubs are doing pretty good. But those darn snails are back.. So i cleaned, trimmed , weeded , moved a couple of things and now waiting to bark. I sure wish i took before pictures. Just imagine all dirt , and a few Iris"S that were just wherever.  The only thing that the owner did right was plant the Peony tree that is going to bloom pretty soon. Otherwise there was no organizing whatsoever.  I like topiary trees, And i like sculpted bushes. So i took the ones from my old house.  Well 2 topiary'S and some little dogwood trees, ok and some bricks and the water fountain. I think i put all my heart into the front yard cause i was so depressed on giving up  our old house. !
you can see the side of the house in the back of the bench. That was all dirt. I laid paper , planted the trees and barked.  The lilac tree was there. Oh it smells so good!
I just planted 3 rhodys , small ones. when they get bigger , the red, pink and white will really look good here.  I need to take better pictures. The colors are really brighter!

I love Wight's NurserY!

There is a nursery in Lynnwood, Wa. that has been there for years! It is really special at Christmas! The display people do an awesome job on all the seasonal decor! I go there to get inspiration! They are expensive so most of the time i do not buy anything but get the best ideas!  I love this yellow color they are showing in some furniture pieces
Might have to find the paint color and try it on something!
Omg when i saw this, i totally envisioned myself sitting there drinking some tea!
Loved this tablecloth! always a sucker for cherry de

after here i went to Hobby Lobby!
I keep admiring this table! I want it as a coffee table but i am not sure if it would swallow the couch! It is taller then a normal coffee table, it probably is a dinner table but on the small side. And to short for a island. But i like it! I look at it every time i go there! :) Luckily i havent had the money to even bring it home....

My Mom's garden!

My mom may live in a condo but that doesn't stop her from decorating the outside.! :) I came for a visit and brought my camera!  This is what greets you at the front door!
If you turn around  you see this
So darn cute!
she is the only one who decorates outside. which is pretty sad! But that doesn't stop her! And i love it as much as she does! Shows she loves her home.  My camera went dead before i could take pictures of the back! And it is pretty darn cute too! so next time i will take pictures of that when i visit again!

What a dog gone month!

What a month! We were hit by the "FLU FROM HELL"! Didn't think i was going to make it out alive. My poor son missed a week of school . And it is still lingering!  And to end this glorious month , I will be having surgery..... About a month ago i woke up and my pinky was numb. In fact the whole side of the hand is numb .  Then last week my pinky started spreading away from the other finger and curling at the top.  Come to find out i have Ulnar nerve issues. So i am having Ulnar Nerve Decompression surgery asap.  It is my cutting hand. (hairstylist) And each day my hand gets weaker. This kind of surgery has good results so i feel pretty good about it! Couldn't come at the most worst time though. Hubs unemployed  and i am self employed. You know what that means.  No work, no money. !  and here i thought this year was going to be better.... still waiting....   and i can't even shop my blues away.... now that just seals the deal.......:(
